Make the message work in the space

Point of Sale and Retail Graphic Design

Retail graphics have to work in a real environment, alongside products, fixtures and other messages. A window treatment, display panel or launch graphic needs a clear purpose and a visual hierarchy people can follow. We design point of sale and in-store marketing artwork around the brand, the physical setting and the action the communication needs to support.

At a glance

A clear starting point

The best starting point is a view of the space and the message that matters most. Dimensions, viewing distance and production requirements then help turn that idea into artwork that belongs in its intended setting.

  • One clear message first Prioritise what someone needs to notice before adding supporting information.
  • Design for the setting Use the actual dimensions, sightlines and surrounding products to guide the layout.
  • Coordinate the rollout Keep related campaign pieces consistent across the required retail formats.

Our approach

What we do

Retail message and information hierarchy

We help organise the approved message around the role of the artwork. A brand introduction, product launch and promotional offer need different emphasis. The design gives the main message space, then positions supporting information so people can understand the communication without searching through competing elements.

Display and in-store campaign artwork

Retail campaigns often need several related pieces, each with a different shape and viewing context. We adapt the visual direction across the formats identified in the brief, keeping colour, typography and product imagery connected while adjusting the hierarchy to the available space.

Window and environmental graphics

Graphics placed within a physical space need to respond to the setting. Photographs, accurate dimensions and notes about obstructions help establish what can be seen and where the key content belongs. For window work, the usable area and production method also influence the artwork and its relationship to the space behind it.

Product launches and coordinated brand application

A product launch can bring packaging, promotional graphics and retail presentation together. We work from the approved brand and product assets to create a consistent visual story across the relevant pieces. Clearly naming each required item and variation helps avoid missing a format late in the rollout.

Production artwork and supplier handover

The printer or display supplier provides the technical framework: dimensions, templates, materials and installation requirements. We prepare the scoped graphic files around those specifications and flag questions for the relevant supplier. Production proofs and an approval route help connect the finished artwork with the physical item that will be made.

Clear steps. Direct collaboration.

How we work

01

Understand the space and objective

Share photographs of the retail environment, the products involved and the message you need to communicate. Explain whether the artwork supports a permanent display, a launch or a time-limited campaign.

02

Confirm formats and specifications

List each artwork item, size and variation. Gather supplier templates, approved copy, product images and brand rules, then identify any store or venue requirements that affect the design or approval process.

03

Design the coordinated artwork

Develop the visual direction and apply it across the required formats. Review readability, product hierarchy and consistency in the context of the space, rather than judging every artwork only as a small image on screen.

04

Check and hand over for production

Confirm the final content, dimensions and versions before export. Prepare the specified files for the supplier and resolve any production questions through the agreed proofing and approval process.

Before you start

Your questions, answered

This service covers the graphic design of retail displays, in-store communications and promotional artwork. Till systems, payment software and retail software integrations are separate requirements. The brief should identify the physical artwork and communication you need.

The service focuses on design and production artwork. Printing, display construction and installation need the appropriate suppliers and a clear production scope. Share their specifications and contacts early so the artwork can be prepared for the chosen process.

Yes. Provide a complete list of sizes, formats and store-specific variations. A shared visual system can connect the campaign while each layout responds to its own dimensions and viewing context. Final content and version control are especially important for a larger rollout.

We can discuss the message and visual direction using the information available. Detailed layouts and final production artwork depend on accurate specifications. Confirm the format with your supplier before approving files for printing or manufacture.

Your next step
